This non-hardening butyl adhesive is used to install and reseal plastic vapor barriers on vehicle doors. Supplied in a tube and applied with a caulking gun, it creates a flexible, airtight seal that prevents moisture from entering the cabin while allowing the vapor barrier to be removed and reinstalled during future service.
The adhesive remains pliable over time, making it ideal for sealing around wiring pass-throughs, access openings, and door contours without tearing the plastic barrier. Commonly used during door panel removal, window regulator repairs, lock service, and restoration work to restore proper interior moisture protection.
